About Jamie
About Jamie Jamie Columbus is a self taught painter and photographer. Her works are exhibited widely and included in international, university, corporate and private collections. Columbus' art is represented in the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and her photographs are published in the award winning book, Becoming A Chef by Van Nostrand Reinhold. This body of work is on display at the Peter Kump School of Cooking in New York City.

A documentary of her work, Jamie Columbus, Portrait of an Artist, has been produced on CD by Eastman Kodak Company.

Jamie's photography is a spicy rainbow of photo-journalistic style, exotic locales, intriguing poetry, and contemporary subject matter. Columbus photographs tribal women in countries including India, Kenya, Morrocco, Tibet, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Israel, Nepal, Thailand, Egypt, Bali, and Venezuela. Her images capture color, soul , women, and the sacredness of daily living while revealing her desire to preserve the dignity of indigenous cultures.
